I seem to have won over Peppercorn, finally xD
I adopted her when she was a tiny kitten, August last year. Along with her mum Tilly. Peppercorn has always been a completely shy and timid kitten, always keen to run away from anyone who came near her. When I first spotted her in August along with the 5 other kittens (Tilly had 6!) Peppercorn was too young to adopt, so we had to wait a month before taking them both home. Mum said its probably a bad idea adopting her because she was so feral. So everyday for a month after work I would go up to the shelter and spend as much time as I could with both cats so they could get used to me, especially Peppercorn as she had never had human contact.
She would play and come to me occasionally when she was brave enough, and it’s been the same since. I would never give up on her though. But the last few weeks we’ve all noticed a dramatic change in Peppercorn’s behaviour. She would look and meow at you when you enter a room, come up to you and rub herself against your legs, then she would purr and rub her face against yours when you pick her up for a cuddle. Now today she’s been following me around the house and sitting with me wherever I go. It’s unbelievable really considering what she used to be like. Quite heart warming really x) She has the friendliest and most playful personality just like her mum :))
